As part of continuous professional development (CPD), training sessions are held at School of Foreign Languages (SFL), Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. For the sessions on June 11th, our guest was Tony Gurr, CLO (Chief Learning Officer) and one of the leading trainers in the field.

Considering quality cycle in education, program evaluation is carried out at the end of each academic year at SFL and needs analyses are conducted to determine areas for further improvement for the following academic year. As a result of focus-group interviews conducted with the lectures to evaluate the program in 2018-2019 and to analyze needs of the lecturers for professional development, the themes of the sessions were determined: What is Effective Teaching? Curriculum Implementation (in the classroom), Textbook Use, Adaptation and Lesson Planning were involved in the content of the two sessions. These sessions were found to be beneficial by the lecturers of the school.
