On February 9, 2024, Mr. Bob NGUYEN, English Education Consultant at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, conducted a full-day in-service training in three sessions at our School of Foreign Languages conference hall. Following the opening speech by the Director of the School of Foreign Languages, Instructor Okşan DAĞLI, the training commenced with sessions on teacher motivation, focusing on 'Increasing Teachers’ Expectations, Reducing Biases, and Scaffolding to Increase Student Achievement' and 'Developing Autonomous Learning Strategies Using Online Tools.' The topics of the training were selected based on the most common issues encountered during our Professional Development Unit's 'In-Class Observation' activities throughout the academic year. In addition to our own staff, academics from our university's Department of English Language Teaching also attended the training.

At the end of the productive and intense training, our School Director, Instructor Okşan DAĞLI, expressed gratitude to Bob NGUYEN, English Programs Education Consultant at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, and to our responsible instructors of the School of Foreign Languages Professional Development Unit, Instructors Esra SAKA and Zeral BOZKURT, for their contributions to the training."
