An orientation session was held on September 23, 2025, for students enrolled in the Mandatory and Optional Preparatory Program at the School of Foreign Languages, Incirharmanı Campus, as well as for students studying at the Çaycuma Vocational School Campus in the "Offshore Drilling Technology" and "Offshore Seabed Applications Technology" programs. The sessions were conducted simultaneously in each classroom.

During the orientation for the Preparatory Program, which comprises a total of 537 students across 26 classes, information was provided about the opportunities and facilities offered by our School and University. Following the opening address by Instructor Okşan DAĞLI, Director of the School of Foreign Languages, presentations were made on various topics. These included educational activities, course content, assessment and evaluation criteria, relevant regulations, the academic calendar, and the use of the School's library.

The orientation also covered the reasons for and importance of learning English, along with information about the school's international accreditation from the United Kingdom. In addition to academic matters, presentations included details on the Zero Waste Project, GreenMetric, library services, the health center, student disciplinary procedures, the School of Foreign Languages Student Handbook, social life, student access within the campus, the "Student Psychological Counseling and Support Unit" located on the Farabi Campus, combating addiction, and transportation.

The session provided detailed information on many other subjects, such as the university's administrative units and department directorates, the Prof. Dr. Durmuş Günay Library on the Farabi Campus, energy efficiency, the Disability Support Unit, and Student Clubs.

The simultaneous orientation presentations, delivered by the assigned advisors in each classroom, aimed to facilitate students' adaptation to both the preparatory education process and the university. Alongside the school's procedures, the significance and current role of the English language were emphasized to boost student motivation, which is essential for making the most of their one-year preparatory education.

Following these informative presentations, students' questions regarding language learning and the preparatory program were answered, thereby concluding the orientation training for the new academic year.
