The project titled "Know What You Breathe: Mobilizing Communities for Air Quality in the Black Sea Basin," prepared by the R&D Unit of the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Technology Transfer Office (TTO), has been awarded support from the European Union. The project secured approximately 1,108,214.62 euros in support through the evaluation of 151 project proposals submitted to the Cross-Border Cooperation Program in the Black Sea Basin. With this support, the total budget of the project reached around 40 million Turkish Lira.
The project, which aims to raise awareness about air quality through awareness campaigns in the Black Sea Basin, is also notable as the largest project ever supported by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. The project, which won support, is a significant success for the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Technology Transfer Office and its R&D Coordination Unit, accelerated with the encouragement and guidance of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu in 2023.
The project, led by the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Technology Transfer Office and lasting for 24 months, has partners including the Bulgarian Association for Transfer of Technology, Odessa State Environmental University, Galati Tehnopol Association, and the Eastern Black Sea Development Agency.
The team leading the project consists of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Gürbüz as the Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu as the Advisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram Gökbulut and Dr. Gülçin Demirel Bayık as Coordinator Assistants, and the team members Prof. Dr. Emine Yılmaz Can, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çağlar Bayık, Dr. Behice Ceyda Cengiz, Res. Asst. Dr. Elif Öztekin, and Instr. Dr. Fatma Hilal Gümüş, along with Fatemeh Ghasempour.
